Abstract
In machining processes, the measurement of the heat flux on the contact zone between the cutting tool and the piece represents one limitation on experimental analysis. Through mathematical methods, it is possible to estimate with certain precision the heat flux in this region, coming by the temperature measurement using thermocouples installed next to the contact zone. This work has the purpose of solving by Finite Elements Method, Sequential Method and analytical equations, the heat flux estimation problem on machining. Temperature data, measured by a referenced author, was used as basis for the inverse technique, to find the unknown parameter of heat flux. With this objective, the boundary conditions of this other scientific study were considered and analyzed through the programming of the COMSOL software, for the computational modeling of the system. Through the iterations performed by the Sequential Procedure, using the MATLAB software, it was possible to estimate the heat flux generated in the cutting process. It was done a temperature distribution, using the estimated heat flux on software COMSOL and this result was compared to the referenced temperature. It was reassured the relevant precision of the numerical method to estimate the heat flux in this process, using the inverse technique.
