Abstract
Induction heating is a contactless heating method widely employed in various industries. This article discusses on the mathematical formulation using finite volumes for heat transfer in axially symmetric geometries, specifically using cylindrical coordinates. The article highlights the microstructural transformations that occur during induction heating processes and their influence on material properties. Analytical cases for axially symmetric systems with internal heat generation are presented with microstructural analysis and the influence of magnetic fields on microstructure change. The article concludes with a comprehensive understanding of the mathematical formulation for austenitic transformations in induction heating processes.
