Abstract
This paper presents an analysis of pressure drop in water-in-oil emulsion flows, with water volume fraction from 7% to 25%. Empirical correlations are evaluated to estimate density and viscosity. The pressure gradient is estimated assuming homogeneous flow model. The predicted values are compared against experimental data. Results indicate that the density model exhibits errors of less than 1.5%, demonstrating its accuracy. The best viscosity model presents errors between 3% and 16%. The estimated pressure gradient underpredicts the pressure loss, with deviations ranging from -5% to -28%. These findings indicate the challenges associated with accurately predicting pressure drop in emulsion flow and highlight the need for further investigation of existing models.
