Abstract
Brazil remains the second country in the number of cases in the world of leprosy. One of the advanced observations of the disease and an injury to the fibular nerve, altering the gait pattern of the patient. The muscles innervated by the fibular nerve perform a dorsiflexion and extension of the toes. The imbalance of the muscular forces acting on the foot induces a state of permanent plantar flexion (fallen foot). The objective of this study is to characterize gait patterns of patients with lesion in the fibular nerve caused by leprosy. A control group with the format of 20 healthy subjects and 20 subjects with leprosy. For a motion acquisition and ground reaction forces and a system of kinesemetry (BTS Bioengineering). Preliminary results here are in line with the literature, showing below-average values in the soil reaction forces and in the media in leprosy subjects.
