Abstract
The objective of this research is to compare statically an orthosis with lateral damping system and the reduction of its weight, with the previous project. A damping system was developed with elastics and springs. The data was read and compared by the accelerometer connected to the Arduino® board, which transmits the data to the computer via Bluetooth® technology. Data will be analyzed and saved in LabView® and Excel® software. Plans of 5 °, 10 ° and 15 ° were used, where the measurements of the system were made. Comparing the results of the rigid orthosis with the orthosis with a lateral damping system, a lateral angle reduction of the leg was observed. Through the 10 ° tilt tests a reduction of 80% in eversion and 90% in inversion was observed. Concluding that, probably with the lateral damping system, adaptation of the foot occurs to the ground, reducing the lateral pressure in the knee joints.
