Abstract
This work presents a physiologically based pharmacokinetic model (PBPK) for bone seeking agents, that have as main characteristics a great affinity with the bone, in which they remain for prolonged periods of time maintaining a low systemic concentration. The proposed pharmacokinetic model describes the time course of concentration of a drug in bone and is physiologically based (PBPK). The bone tissue model distinguishes compartments for bone metabolically active, where remodeling develops, and for bone metabolically inactive, which does not undergo remodeling. Preliminary results indicate that the proposed model is able to reproduce the expected behavior of bone tissue exposed to bone-seeking agents. Further studies are needed to fit the model and simulate commercially available drugs.
