Abstract
This paper investigates the effect of shaft flexibility on the dynamic response of the system by comparing the bearing vertical acceleration of a gear pair supported by rigid and flexible shafts. Results indicate that the flexible shaft presents the gear pair response modulated by the first natural frequency of the system, which correspond to a bending motion of the shaft
