Abstract
This article presents a study of non-stationary vibrations on an aerial cableway. The car is modelled as a concentrated mass pulled by a traction cable and is hung on another cable. The mathematical model is described as a mass-spring system attached to a time varying cable. The effects of the pulling speed shall generate nonlinear features due to the coupling between the rope and the car and due to concentrated loads. For such, all numerical modeling is built on MATLAB and the simulation results are shown and analyzed after observing the movement of the car and if a modal frequency of the traction cable is excited according to the parameters used, and the conclusions are presented along with some comments on future work.
