Abstract
This paper shows the computation of the fixed points of a nonlinear rotordynamic system using the normal forms method. The system has a flexible unrounded rotor, two bearings, and a nonlinear spring-damper at the middle. The system equations are taken to a normal form by applying a set of coordinates transformation. Then, the fixed points are computed and the influence of the nonlinear stiffness and damping is studied.
