Abstract
In this work the backbones and resonances curves of a cylindrical panel are analyzed. The cylindrical panel's equilibrium equation is obtained considering the nonlinear Donnell's shallow shell theory. A novel transversal displacements field, that taken account the modal coupling and the modal interaction, is consistently derived by a pertubation procedure and it is applyed to discretize the equilibrium equations by the standard Galerkin method. Backbones and resonances curves are used to identify the nonlinear forced behavior of a cylindrical panel. Important modifications in the nonlinear vibration can be observed, indicating a strong participation of vibration modes that appears due to our initial considerations in pertubation procedure to take account differents internal resonance types (1:1, 1:2, 1:3, 1:1:2 and 1:2:4).
