The friction’s characteristics between two surfaces of rigid bodies are studied through an educational object based in experimental tests of statics analysis of the behavior of blocks in a plan with different inclinations. The project aims the practical application of an extremely important subject in the mechanical engineering field, helping the comprehension of this event, promoting the students' development, and making the experiment methodology accessible. From the experiments, the maximum inclination angle of the surface before the body’s slide, making it possible to calculate the weight force’s components, the maximum frictional force, and the friction coefficient. Furthermore, static equilibrium analysis is executed and the possibility of body toppling before the slide is studied. As a result of this project, there is a methodological systematization of the concepts, foundations, and orientations that can help an engineer to solve a practical case involving friction. It is intended to contribute to a better understanding of a complex phenomenon of classical mechanics, making the subject more interesting and attractive to engineering students.
