Abstract
Optimization problems are common in designing engineering systems. More specifically, in thermal systems, it is desirable to optimize the net power, the heat transfer, thermal efficiency, total costs, etc. These systems have various optimization parameters which influence into system operation is unpredictbale and with nonlinear behavior. Due the complexity in optmizing thermal system, the use of advanced algorithms of optimization become attractive. The present work propose to compare the efficiency of a real-coded genetic algorithn in optmizing a double stage organic Rankine cycle, considering two types of replacement selection. As a preliminar result, the algorithm is executed ony once for each type of selection and the process of searchg an optimal solution is shown graphically.
