Abstract
With the increase in global perspectives regarding renewable energies and the use of solar energy concentrated heat, with the objective of increasing the flow of solar radiation incident on thermal systems has proved to be a viable solution for generating electricity. Heliostat devices have the ability to track the sun and reflect the radiation at a pre-established fixed point, commonly known as a tower solar, located in the middle of a field of heliostat devices. Solar towers have been the target of studies for having great potential for generating electricity. The higher the values of intended concentration of the system, the greater the requirements for tracking accuracy and reflection of the heliostat and the quality of reflective surfaces. This work aims to design and build of a two degree of freedom heliostat for power generation in solar tower systems using control methods for tracking and optimal reflection on the LabView platform. Applying algorithms of tracking based on equations of solar behavior and mechanical design allowing a dynamic of two degrees of freedom, results of 0.201 degrees of accuracy were obtained in the reflection reflection of the radiation.
