Abstract
The large range of materials engineering presents a diversity of applications within several segments of the industry, among which are the production of polymer composites. In this work, composite materials of composite matrix with isophthalic resin and cobalt accelerator curing agent and catalyst were developed, with the insertion of short fibers of bamboo In natura in the lengths of 15 mm and with chemical treatment in 5% NaOH solution. for the study of mechanical behavior, tensile strength tests were performed according to ASTM 3039. A total of 10 (ten) specimens were produced for each fabricated series. The composites produced generated a tensile strength limit of 20.56 MPa for the composites in 3% bamboo 15 mm in natura and 33.05 MPa with incorporation of 3% of chemically treated fibers.
