Abstract
The composites comprise a class of materials formed by mixing two or more different materials with characteristics inferior to the resulting material. The recurrent use of these materials in various technological domains highlights the need and the commitment in the development of new tests and evaluation methodologies to their potentialities. This work proposes to discuss the quasi-static "Punch Shear" test, which employs a new methodology to evaluate the properties of these materials with emphasis on energy absorption and damage evolution in polymeric laminates. For these analyzes were obtained: specimens, a claw with support for the plates and a "puncture" for the realization of the quasi-static "Punch Shear" test. In order to achieve the results, computational software (Blue Hill 3, Autodesk Inventor and Oringin 8) was used to verify the energy absorbed and the evolution of the damage in the test. It was observed that, according to the literature, the damages or malfunctions in the plates subjected to the quasi-static "Punch Shear" tests have a pre-established standard, similar to other types of tests used for composites analysis.
