Abstract
The aim of this paper is determinate the laminar flame velocity from poor gas from biomass gasification. The gas is obtained from the gasification process in a downdraft gasifier able to produce a gaseous mixture content of CO, H2 and CH4 mainly, which represents 20%, 16% and 1.8% respectively. The Bunsen burner methodology was used to determinate the flame’s velocity and the Schlieren method was used to register the flame’s shape. Some authors have carried out some experiments in order to determinate the laminar flame velocity from poor gas, however always using mixtures of manufactured gases. In this paper the poor gas is delivered directly from a gasifier, then the gas used has all the characteristics of the real producer gas, therefore the control of the variables are more complex. The major value obtained was 0.33 m/s, matching with the results presented for another authors.
