Abstract
The objective of this work was to analyze the geometric precision and optical finishing of the microcomponent with submicron characteristics injected in mold machined with monocrystalline diamond tool. The lenses cavities machined on electrolytic copper inserts by monocrystalline diamond tool and very low roughness values was obtained with depth of cut of 1μm and the feed rate of 1μm / rev. The lenses with a diameter of 3 mm and a height of 1 mm were molded by injection process in optical polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA). The samples were measured by optical profilometry and the results showed good accuracy in the mold, good fidelity of lens replication and low roughness between insert and lens. The differences of roughness values Sa referring to insert, and Sq the lens were 3.07 nm and 4.41 nm, respectively.
