Abstract
The increasing use of vision systems in automated processes is growing every day. And to simulate this situation in university, this paper proposes to add a low cost vision system to a remanufactured manipulator, which works reliably and algorithms that require minimal operator intervention, will allow the robotic manipulator perform welds arc from the identification, location and orientation of a workpiece on a table without requiring any prior knowledge or other type of sensor that assists. After image acquisition by the vision system, it is converted into points of transformation between the coordinate reference systems of the image plane and the world reference, thereby allowing the proposed method presents a picture as an input to the robotic manipulator define its path and perform the welding operation on coordinates obtained by processing the captured image. The main focus of this research is to check not only the fulfillment of the task of positioning, as well as the robustness against the environment variations, demonstrating that the system presents an excellent value for money.
