Abstract
In flower production greenhouses for small entrepreneurs, control and monitoring are done manually, without the aid of equipment. This practice can lead to numerous problems arising from poor irrigation, such as waste of water, energy and deficit in production. Thus, in order to automate some of these features and optimize the performance of a flower production greenhouse, the proposal for automation of the irrigation, ventilation, lighting system, as well as the reuse of the water used, was studied. Based on agile project management methodologies, the improvements have been installed and the proposed project is financially viable. Following the proposed methodology, it is possible to apply the improvements proposed in automation projects to solve problems in small agricultural productions. Considering the current panorama of the evaluated company, it is possible that the project will pay for itself in 3.1 months, optimizing the production of flowers and making rational use of water, among other studied improvements.
