Abstract
cutting oil optimization project was developed for a Machining Center, addressing the conceptual design, the morphological matrix, the systems, subsistines and components, reported on the Quality Function Deployment and on the detailed project. Method: the prototype monitored the cutting oil concentration using a conductivity sensor immersed in the mixture. The conductivity of the fluid is proportional to the concentration, the signal was treated using an equation defined by an experiment with samples measured with a refractometer. Once the concentration was collected, the Arduino received the signal from the mixture reservoir level through the ultrasonic sensor, which calculated through equations, the ideal amount of water and oil injection, through pumps that acted by relays, commanded by the Arduino, until the ideal level and concentration of the mixture is reached, including level sensors in the reservoirs to indicate the need / lack of oil for feeding and an LCD display for the human / machine interface, informing the concentration and levels of the mixture in real time. Result: the prototype met the need, requiring adjustments in fluid injection, as it did not exactly match the flow indicated by the pump supplier. Conclusion: the prototype will serve as a basis for future implementation in a Machining Center.
