Abstract
Based on an exploratory study, the research carried out a case study in a company of the refrigeration components branch from the northern of Santa Catarina State, Brazil, where it was analyzed the subprocess of the junction of the ferrule with zinc capillary, through the brazing process. Failures were observed during the execution of this sub-process, which end up collaborating with the production of failures in the brazed / welded part, generating direct and indirect losses for the company. Based on the technical literature on the subject and on subprocess mapping within the company studied, it was possible to draw a brief procedural map, to organize the conceptual view of the brazing. In order to deepen the understanding of the possible failures resulting from the referred subprocess, tests were carried out, identifying possible causes of the leaks, generating specimens that were analyzed using the DOE Technique. For visualization and analysis of the data collected by the tests, graphs were generated where the possible causes of the failures generated by the studied subprocess can be corroborated. Among the most apparent causes are the non-use of flux in the brazing and the interaction of the internal diameter and the parallel of the capillary.
