Abstract
Dish-Stirling is a solar concentrating system commonly installed at open fields; therefore, exposed to strong winds. The incidence of winds in its concentrator at high speeds makes it imperative that the system be deactivated, so the wind energy determines a decrease in the utilization rate of these systems. Based on this scenario, the purpose of this research is to apply the wind energy conversion on solar dish concentrator to generation of electricity, creating a new concept of solar-wind hybrid dish concentrator. The technical proposal consists in a development of the solar dish concentrator combined at wind turbine blades, defining the hybrid dish concentrator concept. The CSCWA hybrid solar-wind system was recently development by combining of wind turbine with solar concentrator, which essentially was defined through the concept of the funnel concentrator based on optical studies and computational fluid dynamics simulations. This research aims the technical validation of the hybrid concentrator concept through of the comparative analysis between results of its solar-wind power and the solar power of matching solar dish concentrator. The comparative analysis proves the technical feasibility of the solar-wind hybrid dish concentrator.
