Abstract
The increasing development of robots in the most diverse areas has encouraged the search for different ways to conceive the design of these sophisticated structures. In this scenario, the present work will show the design, fabrication and tests of a robot prototype made by 3D printing using the polymer Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) which is actuated by resistive heating of NiTi shape memory alloy (SMA) micro springs. An experimental analysis was performed by using the concept of compliant mechanisms to get movement in the prototype. The prototype showed a satisfactory performance, although it needs some future improvements.
