Abstract
This paper presents the application of a mathematical model for the prediction of the thermal contact resistance between two dissimilar surfaces. The model is proposed in order to evaluate the heat transfer influence in thermoelectric modules applications. A brief bibliographic review was performed on the subject, presenting the evolution of research over time, and an overview of the theoretical concepts involved. Numerical simulations were performed to observe the behavior of thermal resistance occurring in the interface the surfaces for different mounting pressures, microhardness and roughness. The results allow to mainly conclude that thermal resistance dependency on mounting pressure is negligible for small values of roughness and hardness as well as smaller values of these parameters allow to reduce the thermal resistance.
