Abstract
The use of test benches, within the engineering, has always been a tool satisfactory in the reproductive results, including in the rotodynamic area. However, the used of numerical and analytical models constitutes reliable alternatives for the evaluation of rotodynamic phenomena. According Castilho (2007), among the discrete techniques of mathematical modeling of real rotors, the finite element method (MEF), has been show, in the last years, the most appropriate for global treatment of rotodynamic questions, not only for its unlimited capacity to portray real rotors, as also, by possibilities offered to simplification of solutions. Therefore, dynamic analysis using analytical mathematical modeling and numerical, were performed in order to characterize the rotodynamic workbench, where one can check the consequence of using the stiffness of the bearings in determining of results for the models studied, check the influence of utilization solid and beam elements in determining the critical speeds of the same and observed the deviations when compared results using MEF with analytical model. The model using MEF, by using solid and beam elements considering the extremely rigid bearings showed the best alternative, because, showed relatively small computational time (less the five minutes) and minors deviations with relation to the analytical model.
