Abstract
The present study aims to solve the two-dimensional advection-diffusion equation with a vertical eddy diffusivity depending on the source distance in a vertically inhomogeneous planetary boundary layer. This assumption captures the memory effect present in the adjacencies of the source making the model more reliable. The GILTT (Generalized Integral Laplace Transformation Technique) method was applied in the resolution of the advection-diffusion equation. For the purposes of comparison and validation of the presented model were used the experimental data from Copenhagen and Prairie Grass. The results suggest that the inclusion of the memory effect improves the description of the process of turbulent transport of pollutants in the atmosphere to sources close to the ground under extremely unstable conditions.
