Abstract
In this paper analysis is presented a comparative thermal between the solid brake disc and the drilled disc. The objective of the analysis is to determine the temperature profile as a function of velocity. In order to obtain the initial flow and the temperatures reached by the disks, some input parameters were used, such as mass of the vehicle, disk area, speed and braking time. The computational modeling was performed using the finite element method (FEM) using the mechanical simulation software ANSYS. Through the simulation it was possible to verify the maximum temperatures reached for speeds of 28 m / s. In addition, it was observed that the solid brake disc had the highest temperature compared to the drilled disc.
