Abstract
An experimental apparatus formed by smooth stainless-steel pipes with a external diameter of 50.8 mm and a total length of 88 meters was built. It was used for later analysis of head loss of a solid-liquid biphasic flow. Measurements of the pressure were taken from sockets located every 2 meters long the apparatus. For these measurements were used Silicon Carbide particles of 0.15 mm of diameter, three different concentrations ranging from 0.45% to 1.4% by mass, in addition to the variation of Reynolds number from 68000 to 107000. The experimental results indicate thate pressure drop increases significantly, with the solid particles concentration.
