Abstract
Phase inversion refers to the process in liquid-liquid and liquid-liquid-gas flows where the dispersed phase becomes the continuous one. However, when gas is added to the liquid mixture, flow pattern has influence on the liquid-liquid behavior, drop sizes and phase inversion point. It is observed a presence of a peak in drop sizes due to the coalescence of dispersed phase drops during the inversion for each gas-liquid flow pattern. Drop sizes are modeling using basic concepts of turbulence and the estimations presented here are estimated in available data on three phase oil-water-gas pipe flow
