Abstract
The objective of this work was to compare, through finite element analysis, residual stresses during and after two processes, welding autogenous and with material deposition. The purpose was to quantify the differences obtained in results between these two process, in order to offer knowledge enough to ponder which of this analysis should be used. To get the expected results, thermal and structural analyses were done, whereupon it’s possible to associate informations about temperature, shrinkage, distortions and residual stresses during welding process.
