Small Size Helicopter Dynamics Identification

Abstract
Flight testing of a instrumented model-scale Flybarless unmanned helicopter (Goblin 380) was conducted for the purpose of dynamic model identification. The time domain Output Error Method technique was applied in order to identify the bare airframe helicopter dynamics model based on flight test data. The model structure considers the helicopter and all its components as a lumped system. The linear state-space model was derived for the hover condition. The aim of the model is to drive the development of modern control, navigation and guidance strategies for the helicopter unmanned vehicle.
