Abstract
This work aims to study the causes that led to the nucleation and propagation of fatiguecrackinaaxisofa truck used in the process of eucalyptus extraction, evaluating the possible causes and defects that led to the event. Traditional methods of analysis such as visual inspection, metallographic tests and Rockwell B hardness tests were used. The tests performed indicate the shaft failure from the fatigue mechanism.
