PHYSICAL MATHEMATICAL AND COMPUTATIONAL MODELING OF THE TWO-DIMENSIONAL FLOW OVER A HEATED POROUS SQUARE CYLINDER

Abstract
In this paper the authors present the physical, mathematical and computational modeling of the laminar flow through a heated square cylinder composed of a porous medium. The modeling equations are solved in a two-dimensional fixed Eulerian and Cartesian domain through the finite-difference method. Streamlines and temperature iso-surfaces are presented for different values of porosity and permeability. The results obtained with the in-house developed code are in accord with those encountered in literature.
