Cement curing process in the presence of a fluid loss zone

Abstract
This article proposes a 2-D simulation of cementing process of an oil well in the presence of filtrate loss using finite volumes. Simplified cylindrical Navier-Stokes equations are used to predict the flow, and the cement mixture is considered a slightly compressible non-Newtonian fluid composed by two chemical species. Finally, the simulation results are confronted with some experimental data.
