On Real-Time Flight Simulation of Flexible Aircraft with Interpolated Reduced-Order Models

Abstract
Real–time simulation is a valuable tool for aircraft development. However, high–fidelity flight dynamics models of flexible aircraft are computationally expensive and can be prohibitive for real–time simulation. In face of this challenge, this extended abstract summarizes the methodology based on model–order reduction that we intend to use to reduce computational cost of simulation models. Next, preliminary results are presented, showing good agreement between full–order and reduced–order models and, finally, additions to the final paper are presented.
