STUDY OF TURBULENT FORCED CONVECTION IN THERMALLY DEVELOPING

Abstract
This work describes a solution for heat transfer by forced convection in the thermal input region of a rectangular or circular duct, for the turbulent flow dynamically developed and thermally developing of Newtonian fluids. The energy equation is solved using the Generalized Integral Transformation Technique (GITT). The temperature field and the local Nusselt number are evaluated for several values of the Reynolds and Prandtl numbers, where the length of thermal development was also investigated. The results are presented in the form of tables and graphs, comparing with existing literature values observing a good agreement between them.
