A NEW EXPERIMENTAL APPROACH FOR HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENT DETERMINATION DURING FLOW INSIDE CHANNELS

Abstract
This paper reports a new experimental method for heat transfer coefficient determination during flow inside channels when a secondary flow is involved. The method is based in a cylindrical test section composed of a thin-walled copper tube covered with epoxy resin and built in heat flux sensor based on thermopile. The main purpose of this new methodology is to establish a proper way to measure the locally the heat transfer coefficient of flows under cooling conditions, e.g. convective condensation, with low uncertainties.
