Abstract
This paper presents a model of a Linear Permanent Magnet Alternator for design and optimization purposes. It aims to obtain a model without the usual simplifications as, for example, the linearization of the electromagnetic force, and that does not depend on the parameters obtained only via experiments or manufacturers documents. It is shown that the choice of the method to estimate the magnetic field inside the machine was an important step, which led to a model with low-computational cost and great precision. The results are validated by comparison with a FEM model
