Abstract
This work is part of a larger study conducted on the feasibility of cogeneration in commercial ventures. In this article, however, is presented an economic analysis of a distributed generation plant of a Shopping and Hotel of Agreste of the Pernambuco for deployment of a cogeneration system. The enterprises operate in conjunction with electrical generators that are powered by internal combustion engines and Diesel cycle that are triggered only during rush hour, producing a maximum power of 3960 kVA. The cogeneration system would allow benefit from reducing electric consumption at rush hour, by reducing the electric consumption by conventional cooling systems and water heating. To this end, a exergética analysis of the available energy in the exhaust gases to the sizing of cogeneration system and subsequent financial analysis using NPV, IRR and Payback methods for economic viability. System modeling and simulation have been performed in the EES. The results showed that one of the two proposed systems can be deployed with return of capital (Payback) and the operation of this systems in extra hours would increase your viability.
