Abstract
This work is focused on the study and the analysis of pump functioning as a turbine (BFT), being an economically viable method, when compared to a conventional turbine. The present work demonstrates in a theoretical and experimental way the design and execution of the system, which will be composed of a water reservoir, a flow pump, to simulate the waterfall, which will be directed to the suction of the BFT, and the Pump that will be used in its reverse flow. The theoretical development will be based on the Bernoulli equations and their derivations, also using Turbine Power Calculation. For the determination of the pump to be used in our stand, we will take as base the Viana selection method, which relates the manometric height and flow. At the end the results will be presented to verify the viability of the system. We will take as base the value of 161.8 KWh / month, which means the average in Brazil.
