INFLUENCE OF LORENTZ FORCE ON PENETRATION OF WELDED JOINTS BY THE GMAW PROCESS WITH ELETRIC WIRE

Abstract
A variation of Gas Metal Arc Welding with higher deposition rate is the Cold Wire. However, in this process the penetration decrease with the cold wire rate increasing. This work study the addition of electric wire with different current values, polarity and welding direction. The proposed is the modification of Lorentz force effect in the weld pool for incrementing penetration. The results showed that the penetration is directly proportional current increment.
