Abstract
The objective of this work is to apply an empirical model to predict the transition stratified/non-stratified gas-liquid two-phase flow in the whole range of inclinations. A previous work proved the efficiency of this empirical model to predict the transition in horizontal and downwardly pipes. We showed that this empirical model can also be accurate to identify stratified pattern in upwardly pipes, hence it may be applied for the whole range of pipe inclinations. Moreover, we also compared the prediction of the empirical model with a traditionally used mechanistic model.
