Abstract
In the present study, using computational modeling and simulation tools (CFD), the flow through a three-bladed horizontal axis wind turbine will be computed and the results will be compared with NREL Unsteady Aerodynamics Experiment Phase VI experimental data. Initially, the wind turbine will be modeled as a rigid structure, composed of its main structural components, such as hub, nacelle, blades and tower. After the aerodynamic performance analysis of the simulation of this model, the wind turbine blades will be considered flexible, requiring simulations with fluid-structure interaction.
