The Influence of Buildings Envelope on its Energetic Efficiency

Abstract
Energetic efficiency is a subject that has been taking more and more into discussions mainly when it is about buildings, which are responsible for most part of the total energy used up in a country. It is known that the envelope of a building has some influence on the heating exchange between the inside and the outside, and this study has the objective to evaluate the behavior of the house energetic consumption when changing its envelope, as well as the energy consumption with heating and cooling to keep the thermal comfort of the house. The EnergyPlus simulation software was applied to three different cities and the results proved that the climate features have a considerable influence when it is supposed to choose the building envelope thinking on its energetic efficiency.
