Risk analysis in chemistry laboratory

Abstract
Technical systems inside a research laboratory represents risks for users and for the population around. This work presents a risk analysis study about a chemistry laboratory in Federal University of Santa Catarina using risk analysis methodology based in New Product Development (NDP) has developed by Núcleo Integrado de Desenvolvimento de Produtos (NEDIP). The results obtained clearly show the main sources of risks: fire, delayed evacuation of the laboratory, explosion and intoxication by handling. Therefore, the risk management in hazard environment is important to protect the users and the equipments. This approach also aims the reflection about safety in educational environment.
