Abstract
A flash algorithm was developed for equilibrium modelling in systems with hydrates for different gases, such as methane, ethane, propane, carbon dioxide and nitrogen and the presence of thermodynamic inhibitors (methanol, ethanol, mono-ethylene glycol and sodium chloride) and their mixtures. The model consists on a statistical thermodynamic approach for the hydrate phase based on the van der Waals and Platteeuw theory and on the Cubic Plus Association (CPA) equation of state for the fluid phases. Predictions of the developed method have been compared with experimental data from the literature and provided an acceptable agreement.
