Abstract
The ability to apply and control materials that emit electromechanical responses has enabled the development of intelligent structures to control vibration, stiffness, shape and other applications. The shape memory alloys fit into this class of materials, with the ability to act thermomechanically, through force generation, stiffness and damping variation, shape control, with temperature variation (Vilar, 2009). Knowing and understanding how to modify the properties of materials is very important to industry, therefore it is essential to study the properties variations of materials, in principle (Grassi, 2014), from the application of several thermal treatments at temperatures of 400, 450 and 500 ° C, with the times of 10, 20 and 30 minutes at each temperature respectively. Such treatments applied in alloys with shape memory effect can modify their thermomechanical properties, such as phase transformation temperatures, activation energy, among others, these variations can make possitble or impossible the application of these alloys in several areas. In order to determine these activation temperatures, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and electrical resistance x temperature (RET) are effective and reach, allowing the measurement of these temperatures by the method of the tangents.
