Bio-PCM thermophysical characterization through the T-history method

Abstract
Currently, latent thermal storage systems have been gaining a wide range of industrial and domestic applications. Thus, the phase change materials that are used in these systems began to be studied and characterized. This work has as proposal to carry out a thermophysical characterization of BioPCMs through the methodology T-history. The method consists of comparing the temperature curve of the Bio-PCM sample in relation to the water temperature curve and thus determining some calorimetric properties of the materials analyzed. The experimental apparatus and method proved to be suitable for the thermal characterization of low melting point Bio-PCms. It is expected to reproduce and obtain results compatible with Bio-PCMs of higher temperatures.
