STRUCTURAL ELASTO-VISCOPLASTIC FLOW: A NUMERICAL STUDY

Abstract
This article carries on a stabilized finite element approximations for inertialess flows of structured elasto-viscoplastic materials. The mechanical modeling is based on the classic mass and momentum conservation equations for incompressible materials coupled with a viscoelastic equation that takes into account the dependence of relaxation time and viscosity on Rheology. To approximate this mechanical model a stabilized finite element formulation is applied in terms of the extra stress tensor, the pressure field, and velocity vector. Numerical results intend to perform a numerical investigation of the influence of the yield stress on the flow pattern.
