Abstract
The briquetting process was developed by seeking to reuse the waste generated in both forest production and industrial processes. The compression of lignocellulosic waste concentrates the available energy in terms of volume and facilitates the handling and storage of these materials. The present work aims to verify the influence on the briquette quality of different compositions between the residues of coffee grounds, pine and eucalyptus sawdust and wheat and soy straw through the evaluation of the physical, chemical and mechanical characteristics of the briquettes generated from the compaction of these residues. For this, several tests were carried out with the briquettes, analyzing the properties of granulometry, specific mass, resistance to diametrical compression, humidity, ash, volatile matter, fixed carbon and superior calorific power for each briquette composition. The briquettes were produced in a hydraulic press and were used in triplicates for each composition.
